We have some excellent news to end the school year: we are the winners of EduFuturists 'Secondary School of the Year' award! We were honoured to be presented with this award at such a prestigious event, attended by educational technology innovators in the UK and all over the world. We would like to give a special thank you to Halcyon's talented teachers, students, and our Digital Learning Coach, Faye Ellis, who provides unique insights, ideas, and inspiration to our community every week. Our dedicated and talented staff team is championing our school's innovative spirit, proudly integrating new findings in the world of educational technology into their pedagogy every day, and maintaining a willingness to debate ideas around learning that have remained unchallenged for too long.
We have also been shortlisted for the following award: Small Independent School of the Year! Last year, we were a finalist in the category of 'Best British International School', and we're thankful that the Independent Schools of the Year Awards continues to recognise our mission and our achievements.
This is a proud year for Halcyon’s community. In 2022, we revealed our Five-Year Plan, including our goals to spread to a new campus and open a primary school. In September 2023, it will be the tenth anniversary since Halcyon’s opening, and this year’s five-year-out alumni reunion highlighted how much our community has shaped the lives of young people in such a short period of time.
