This shared mission led our founders, parents themselves, to seek an international school that was engaging and academically interdisciplinary: an environment that nurtures the voices of thriving global citizens. This, in turn, led to the founding of Halcyon. As the only not-for-profit IB school in London, Halcyon’s unique community tirelessly reflects on how to provide a life-changing education, going above and beyond in inspiring our students to discover their own unique potential.
To build this creative, curious and questioning culture, Halcyon’s IB curriculum is designed to promote self-directed learning and critical thinking.
Our work is enriched by pioneering digital resources, fully integrated into our school practice.
We intentionally create an environment that develops and encourages collaborative learning and teaching through the promotion of trust, mutual respect, shared values and leadership.

At the start of the academic year, Grade 8 embraced a challenging Service as Action project: making a real difference to the lives of families in Peru, who have been heavily impacted by the global pandemic and local political conflict.

Through its mission, the International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
