Safeguarding Statement

Halcyon London International School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all its students. Safeguarding and child protection is everyone’s responsibility. This policy applies to all staff, volunteers and trustees in the school, and is consistent with the procedures of the 3 safeguarding partners. Our policy and procedures also apply to extended school and off-site activities.

The Board of Trustees expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment by demonstrating their understanding of how each adult working on behalf of the school has an active part to play in protecting children from harm and promoting their welfare. All Halcyon staff are advised to maintain an attitude of “it could happen here” in relation to safeguarding.

Halcyon cultivates a climate where everyone should feel comfortable to speak about these matters openly. When concerned about the welfare of a child, staff members should always act in the interests of the child.

Our full Child protection and safeguarding policy can be found here.

Anti-Bullying Policy

Halcyon London International School aims to create a safe, secure learning environment where students, staff and parents are treated with respect. In an international community, where people of different cultural, national and religious backgrounds are working together, it is particularly important that there is a common understanding of appropriate working relationships, and of the shared values that underpin this. This includes policies and procedures, accepted by all stakeholders, that concern bullying, and the prevention of bullying. Our full Anti-Bullying Policy can be found here.

Health and Safety

Halcyon London International School recognises that it has responsibilities for the health and safety of our workforce whilst at work and others who could be affected by our work activities. We will assess the hazards and risks faced by our workforce in the course of their work and take action to control those risks to an acceptable, tolerable level. Our managers and supervisors are made aware of their responsibilities and required to take all reasonable precautions to ensure the safety, health and welfare of our workforce and anyone else likely to be affected by the operation of our business. This business intends meeting its legal obligations by providing and maintaining a safe and healthy working environment so far as is reasonably practicable. Please see our Health and Safety Policy for more information.
