Do you feel like building your skills with different art materials? Do you feel like relaxing in the art studio drawing on your iPad or sketchbook? Or you might prefer to set yourself a little project with clay, mosaic or painting. All students are welcome to join us and work on your creativity!
The DEI club meets every Thursday, and our aim is to improve our spaces and communities by raising awareness and educating ourselves and others. We invite all topics related to DEI to be discussed, explored and debated.
The Eco committee meets once a week, and we carry out a range of activities to maintain the basement garden and indoor plants. We also plan and execute campaigns to raise awareness for events such as Veganuary, Fast Fashion Free February, Walk to School, COP 28 a and many more. If you want to make a positive difference, this is the club for you!
Contribute to Halcyon’s literary magazine. Student authors research and write articles of interest to members of the Halcyon community. Come share your thoughts and express yourself creatively!
This club is open to all students–whether they are total beginners or experienced fiber artists. Knitting and crochet are exciting crafts that are easy to learn and fun to do. Mrs. Fairweather has patterns and tips to share, so everyone can set and reach their own goals (making a scarf for a friend, knitting hats for the homeless, whatever you like!). CAS and Service as Action connections are readily available with this club.
Come learn more about ways to invest and grow your money. Participate in the stock market investment game. You’re welcome to work independently or as part of a small team.
Are you interested in speeches and drama? Select your own piece to memorise and perform. Develop self confidence and speaking skills as you earn certification through the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts
Welcome to the exciting world of numbers! Join our maths competition club and unleash your problem-solving skills while challenging your peers in exhilarating mathematical battles. Students will prepare for individual and team competitions including UKMT.
Student Council Elections take place the last week in September. All students grades 6-11 are eligible to run for office. Student Council responsibilities include: meeting with grade representatives, communicating student needs to SLT, organising community events (assemblies, dances, etc) and representing the student body inside and outside of school.
After School Clubs
Students who join the group will engage with a variety of topics including social issues and current events. You will develop your ideas into formalised debates against other Halcyon students and secondary students from other local schools.
Model UN is a popular activity for those interested in learning more about how the UN operates. The United Nations Model UN Programme aims to build strong links to research, debate and public speaking. It does that through guides and workshops, by visiting Model UN conferences and sharing firsthand knowledge. The Halcyon MUN Conference is one of the most exciting events on the Halcyon calendar completed organised by the Student Board of Directors which all MUN students contribute to.
This is a call out for all budding musicians that have an extended interest in the technology that is used to create and perform music. In this club you will develop a greater understanding of Logic Pro and how to use it to produce professional sounding music. You will also experiment with other technology that is used to perform music such as FX boards.
