Halcyon's IB DP 2023 Results and University Destinations

Halcyon students go to some of the best universities in the UK and beyond. This is because of the strong academic results they achieve: a result of the independent and interdisciplinary study skills they develop while here at Halcyon.

Our school average of 34 enables our students to attain their desired places at world-renowned universities, placing them at a competitive advantage compared with the world average of 30.

Our students' hard work has earned them places to study at a range of prestigious Russell Group and UK Top 20 universities, including Imperial College London, UCL, KCL, Warwick and Aberdeen, as well as highly competitive international institutions such as the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD).

Subjects include a range of competitive degree programmes such as Biomedical Sciences, Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Psychology, and traditional academic subjects such as English Literature, Chemistry and Economics and International Relations.

We are incredibly proud of all that our graduates have achieved.

How the IB DP helps Halcyon students achieve their University Destinations

Our academically challenging curriculum and pioneering education develop their intellectual prowess, interests and passions to the highest standard.

Our outstanding provision of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP) provides a challenging, internationally focused, broad and balanced educational experience for students aged 16 to 19. Students are required to study six subjects – and critical thinking, research and service programmes – concurrently over two years.

The programme equips students with the academic skills needed for university study, further education and their chosen profession. Additionally, the programme supports the development of the values and life skills needed to thrive in the modern world. The final award – the IB Diploma – is accepted and preferred by universities around the world.

Our pioneering education prepares our students for a rapidly changing world. It positions them as the next generation of leaders, innovators, pathfinders and change-makers that will drive positive change in our world, shaping the future for all of us. Our teachers pioneer the use of digital learning technologies, preparing students for an increasingly digitised future. We develop their character, enabling them to thrive at the world's top universities, through our pioneering approach to wellbeing.

We look forward to seeing them go from success to success as this new chapter in their lives begins.
