Halcyon’s Class of 2020 IB Results

We would like to congratulate Halcyon’s Class of 2020 on their IB Diploma results. Throughout this extraordinary year, the Class of 2020 has embraced every challenge and demonstrated their resilience and teamwork. They have managed the loss of both face-to-face teaching in March, and their opportunity to sit examinations in May, and been generous and mindful as they received their final results in unprecedented circumstances. This year’s IB Diploma results, published in July, have been the subject of appeal and it is only now, in August, that the final award has been confirmed.

We are delighted to share that our Class of 2020 students achieved an impressive average score of 35! 20% of our students were awarded a score of 40 points or more.

Above all, we are delighted to see our students embracing their unique potential in a variety of disciplines including Politics, International Business, Engineering, Architecture, Law, and Medicine. Our Class of 2020 includes a number of Halcyon firsts: this year, we are celebrating our first graduate to attend the BIMM Institute studying songwriting, and our first graduate to study dentistry (Barts, Queen Mary University). Together, this graduating class will attend universities and colleges in six different countries: the UK, the Netherlands, the US, Spain, France and Japan!

During our Graduation ceremony (a live-streamed, on campus, socially-distanced event), guest speaker Cyril Vanier (CNN Anchor) applauded our students for exemplifying determination, responsibility and leadership - and our community is excited to follow their stories as the future unfolds. We wish each of our graduates the very best as they embark on a new learning journey, be that at university next month or on a gap year before returning to class in 2021.

Congratulations to the Class of 2020!
