G11 Students had a lovely afternoon at the Photographer's Gallery. They learnt about camera obscuras meaning 'dark room' in latin, and learnt how to create their own portable camera obscuras using card, tracing paper and tin foil! It was a huge learning opportunity to understand the importance of light in photography. It was interesting to learn that the techniques we use are still very similar to the techniques used at the very beginning of photography.
You can easily make one yourself at home!
