Our Alumni
Meet some of our graduates.

Nicole New York University (NYU), USA

Throughout her time at Halcyon, Nicole contributed to school life as an excellent student ambassador and a grade representative for the Student Council in her final year. As she prepares to select her major at the prestigious NYU – after receiving an astonishing 12 offers from all over the world – we are confident that Nicole’s superb organisational, leadership, and communication skills will permit her to excel in any area – from running Dance Club to preparing CAS activities for younger students, Nicole demonstrated her ability to handle several responsibilities at once at Halcyon.

Raghav University of Nottingham, Politics and Economics

As secretary of our Student Council, Raghav demonstrated that he was committed to ensuring that students’ voices were heard and that their plans were communicated and carried out. Raghav’s commitment to supporting new plans at Halcyon was visible until his last days at our school – he was a keen participant in 2021’s Grade 12 workshops, taking part in a brand-new cooking course prepared by our Catering Manager Jacqueline after completing his Diploma studies.

Jadyn Barry University, USA

Jadyn pursued a varied selection of Diploma courses during her final two years at Halcyon, including Psychology and Environmental Systems and Societies, which will prepare her to enter any academic discipline of her choosing at Barry University in the United States. At Halcyon, Jadyn offered a great service to her local community by volunteering at the London Landmarks half marathon, and we look forward to watching her leave an impact elsewhere in the world.

Ally University of Edinburgh, Chemistry

At Halcyon, Ally demonstrated an excellent understanding of the importance of collaborating with others and developing student-led initiatives – and we’re excited to hear about how her project leadership skills lead her to thrive in the laboratory at university. As Student Voice for the Student Council, Ally sought to hear students’ thoughts on every part of school life from lunchtimes to assemblies, and was central to a number of community-connecting events during Remote Learning such as ‘Bring Your Pet To School Day’! Prior to embarking on her course at university, Ally embarked on work experience at Halcyon with our lab technician, and we’re proud to be a part of her journey.

Noah University of Toronto, Cinema Studies & Environmental Studies

Prior to embarking on this exciting journey in Canada, Noah embraced several opportunities at Halcyon and beyond to expand his knowledge of the field of film, art, and design, even leading his own exhibition at the Design Museum in December 2017.

Alexander Maastricht University, Economics and Business

Passionate about climate change and environmental science, Alexander is currently expanding his insights into our globalised society through his studies of Economics and Business. As an MUN Board Director and a player on the Dutch under-18 national tennis team – where he placed second in his tournament – Alexander knows well how we can achieve great things together.

Eric Dartmouth College, Engineering

After becoming a Halcyon alumni, Eric took on a unique challenge that would help prepare him for the demands of studying at an Ivy League university. In the summer after graduating from Halcyon, Eric walked 800 miles of the Appalachian trail – a testament to the dedication and commitment that he also gave to his studies, leading to success in his IB Diploma results.

Ines University of Sussex, International Business

Ines developed a broad understanding of international communication during her time at Halcyon, studying both Spanish and French as HL Diploma Programme options alongside English Language and Literature. Ines also sought to expand her studies of English literature in her Extended Essay: and, with her native proficiency in Portuguese, Diploma studies of Mathematics, and her organisation of a CAS project which fundraised £1000 of materials for a school in Guinea Bissau, she is well-prepared the fast-paced, global environment of international business.

Ellie University of Leeds, Politics

One of many Halcyon success stories, Ellie developed a curiosity for the role of leaders on a community and international level. As a representative of our school at the BETT Conference, Ellie blossomed into a strong verbal communicator, able to incorporate a range of evidence, perspectives and ideas into her presentations. In her studies of Politics at Leeds, Ellie is seeking to expand her understanding of the role of birthright in power and governance, and learning more about the field of international relations

Anne-Marie Temple University, Communications

Since graduation, Anne-Marie has pursued a number of enriching study opportunities that have built on her experiences at Halcyon, interning for Japan Daily and studying Communications at Temple University in Japan after an Art Foundation at Central Saint Martins. At Halcyon, Anne Marie’s skills of creative communication flourished through our annual DP Art Exhibition and Mother Tongue Mandarin.

David LSE, Politics and Philosophy

Politics and Philosophy at LSE is a varied and challenging course that requires students to develop a deeper conceptual understanding of politics. Our former Student Council President is well-prepared: as a representative of our students and a lead actor in a Halcyon student film, David is familiar with how individuals can use their voice to make a difference.

Sabrina UCL, Politics & International Relations

At Halcyon, Sabrina embraced a wide variety of leadership challenges that would prepare her for a future in Politics and International Relations. As Secretary-General of Halcyon’s Model United Nations and the designer of an interactive exhibition for awareness of the Rohingya genocide, Sabrina has grown as a talented and driven speaker, organiser, and activist.

Nikhita KCL, Global Health and Medicine

Nikhita’s studies at King’s College London follow a vibrant and diverse course selection at Halcyon. Taking a keen interest in both medicine and theatre, Nikhita focused her Extended Essay on respiratory diseases in urban areas while exploring the effects of projection in HL Theatre Arts – an interdisciplinary approach well-suited to a course exploring medicine on a societal level.

Erin University of Liverpool, Medicine

Our very first graduate to study medicine, Erin developed a range of skills both inside and outside of her school hours. Erin participated in Irish dancing alongside her studies and placed third in the European qualifiers, learning to balance a variety of challenging commitments as she prepared for university. Having lived in China, the United States, the Netherlands, and the UK, Erin thrived in our vibrant international community.

Juliette Queen Mary’s, University of London, Dentistry

Juliette showcased a passion for science at Halcyon, as well as a caring attitude towards fellow members of her school community – a record that indicates her preparedness to take on dentistry studies at QMUL. Finishing her Diploma Programme with an outstanding score of 42 out of 45, Juliette demonstrated an analytical and research-oriented approach in Biology and her Extended Essay, which explored teeth staining and whitening in forensic detail. She also played a key role in many popular and Halcyon clubs and events, such as Dance Club and the annual Halloween Catwalk.

Boet University of Manchester, Medicine

One of our many graduates who has completed the Bilingual Diploma (English and Dutch), Boet’s embrace of inquiry and challenge throughout the IB led him to succeed in an impressive range of subjects, including Economics, Chemistry, and Physics at HL. As well as taking a rigorous attitude to his studies, Boet took the lead in a number of Extra-Curricular Activities and externally-facing events: representing Halcyon, for example, in an international IB Economics Conference, becoming Secretary-General for our Model United Nations team and winning the award of ‘Best Delegate’ at the Hague! Boet’s readiness to work with others and consider their needs was also explored in his participation with our kitchen volunteering programme and his time as a Middlesex section hockey player. These experiences will certainly prepare him well for a future in medicine!

Linus Vrije Universiteit, PPE

At Halcyon, Linus sought to develop his understanding of our world through his academic pursuits as well as his chosen Extra-Curricular Activities. Studying Geography, Economics, and Environmental Systems and Societies, Physics, English Literature, and Mathematics during the Diploma Programme, Linus – who studied at Halcyon since Grade 6 with his twin brother – discovered a keen interest in sustainability and explored this through his Extended Essay, and brought this to conferences as a Model United Nations member and Economics student. This passionate approach will prepare Linus for success as he goes forward to study PPE in the Netherlands.
