Kelly Foster has stepped in as Drama Teacher while Julia Watson is on maternity leave. Kelly has studied theatre and performance as an undergraduate student at the Conservatoire and has a Masters Degree in Theatre and Philosophy from Queen Mary’s, University of London where she specialised in late medieval and early modern performance practice. Part of this study involved exploring the effects of the second schism on narrative forms during the period.
Kelly trained as an actor at RADA and LAMDA and spent 10 years working in London as an actor before moving to Paris to teach theatre and performance to international students.
During her time as an actor Kelly attended the Institute of Education, University of London to complete a PGCE in further education where she specialised in drama and performance.
Kelly’s main focus is directing for performance, actor training and the theatre of the postdramatic which currently forms part of her research for a future practice based PhD which she hopes to complete while living and working in London.
Kelly is committed to bringing a rigorous actor training approach to her work in the drama classroom in order to allow students to develop the tools they need in order to produce challenging, original and creative performance work.
