Food Technology: Mission accomplished by Agents 009

Agents 009 (Grade 9) organised a spy themed event for the Halcyon community. Students worked with their advisory groups to complete a range of missions, including cracking codes and answering riddles. During the event they were told to be careful about enemy spies! Along the way, they were awarded with an ID badge and the password for the Secret Headquarters. There, they were able to put their fingerprints on their ID, take photos in the themed photobooth, (with spy props) and take part in a laser course. After this, they were invited down to the Spy Lab (the Canteen) for a top secret taste test. Here they had a wide range of tasty food including pie pops, various dips, homemade bread, pasta salads, lentils, jelly and fruit kebabs. They also had several missions to do, including finding the cameras that had been used to bug the room and defusing a balloon bomb! They had goodie bags with spy toys too. The whole canteen, hub and even the corridors were decorated by Grade 9s.

Grade 9s have been looking at how theatricality can change your relationship with food. We hope that by creating an exciting spy themed day, students tried new healthy foods!
