I grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania, surrounded by corn fields and farms. I got my first camera when I was a young child and loved going through rolls and rolls of film (mostly of the surrounding landscape).

In high school, you would always find me in the darkroom or the art studio. After high school, I went to art school in Washington, D.C. and had the opportunity to do a semester in New York and do an internship at Polaroid 20×24 Studio. After graduating I decided to get my Masters degree at the University of Pennsylvania, studying Fine Arts in order to expand my skills and develop ones with new art mediums. It was there that I started to enjoy experimenting with new mediums such as performance and video art, as well as painting and drawing.

I have created several short films and completed internships on a few major film sets as a production assistant. I also received a photography scholarship to travel to Beijing and create a photo series. It was there that I fell in love with travelling. After graduate school, I moved to Beijing and begin teaching art and I continue to create my own art regularly. Since then I spent 4 years teaching in Hong Kong and moved to London 2 years ago.

I encourage my Art and Design students to be risk-takers who are willing to try new things and embrace their mistakes alongside the way as an opportunity for growth. I love helping students find their own artistic style and voice and believe it’s essential that they are given the space to grow and experiment as individuals in their own style.

I frequently visit artist studios, galleries, museums, and artist lectures and am constantly researching and experimenting with new mediums and ideas as a way to enhance my teachings and my own personal practice. As a practising artist, I have participated in exhibitions in and around London.

In my free time, I can be found creating art and visiting exhibitions, reading Young Adult fiction, making zines, listening to Bruce Springsteen and watching videos of sloths & seals.

I am very excited to be joining the amazing community here at Halcyon London International School and hope that my Friday lunchtime Zine Club (creating handmade, self-published magazines) gets some great signups!
