I moved to London to study Geography at Queen Mary College, London University and spent 25 Years working in The Big City in investment banking and finance.
I have worked for the following firms KOP, Enskilda, Morgan Stanley and ABG Sundal Collier. These roles were challenging, dynamic and fast paced, but I decided to take a career change, including a year’s sabbatical and a year completing a MSc in Corporate Governance.
I then moved into a position of Director of Finance and Operations at Welling School – a large, state, secondary modern school. Halcyon is another step along my education path, with particular interest in learning more about what the IB curriculum involves both in the learning and teaching, and the integration of digital learning in the classroom.
I am a firm believer in lifelong learning. Formally, through my Masters and Continuing Professional Development and informally through life experience and attitude. I continue to read history, economics and geography books, magazines and articles.
I still play pretty much any sport where fitness and time permit! I certainly watch a wide variety of sports from the sofa; from rugby league, to Australian football; from cricket to baseball; plus anything and everything in between.
I’m on the committee at Blackheath Cricket Club (one of the largest playing clubs in the country. We were Club National Cup winners in 2016) and the committee of the Blackheath Sports Club (that hosts the world’s oldest rugby club).
