On Tuesday 06 June, Halcyon hosted its second mock general election. Students were required to register to vote as in a normal election. Grade 9 were split into five political parties who ran for election with a week long campaign. Grades 6, 7 and 8 were tasked with coming up with questions to ask these political parties during a mock Question Time debate. The questions and answers from all students were highly impressive, showing incredible knowledge about the current general election. The purpose of this was to encourage our students’ interest in politics, which forms part of the GIN group “Balance the Ballot” objective.
Liberal Democrats were the winners! Congratulations!
