Residential Week: Grade 12 in Croatia, Days Four and Five

Day Four

Day 4 in Croatia started with an educational workshop at the Blue Water Institute. Students learned all about the different types of native sea life. They then did a coastal walk where everyone tried to identify species they had learned about in the intertidal zone. Students then cleaned three bags of rubbish from a beach. In the afternoon, the qualified divers went out on a boat to do a fun dive where they spotted some of the species they had learned about that morning. The learner divers did another dive towards their qualification and some classroom based instruction.

Day Five

Yesterday our learner divers Alex, Anne-Marie, Charlie, Gwen and Rachel all qualified for their SNSI Easy Diver qualification, so a big congratulations to them! They did a last fun dive from a boat with Isla. Anne-Marie, Daphni and Dina stayed near the coast and completed an underwater rubbish clean, removing three bags full of glass bottles, plastic, metal and ceramics.

In the afternoon everyone went dolphin watching and saw some leaping antics and flying fish.
