Building on the foundations of the IB, Halcyon does not formally assess its students on test scores but rather monitors student’s work on academically challenging and balanced projects with students only sitting final examinations aged 18.

Students benefit from being inspired by their learning and their learning environments. They need to be able to incorporate 21st century life tools in their learning, along with creativity and collaboration.

Halcyon believes that test scores form only part of the assessment and that through innovative curriculum and delivery methods students leverage their engagement. Students learning in an innovative environment are much more likely to be innovators themselves: desire to discover new ideas and engage with their learning.
