This week, all Mandarin class students participated in a great trip to the British Museum to see the Ming Exhibition.
Students made many interesting discoveries by examining the paintings, scrolls and objects.
In one particular painting on Chinese sports, we found that polo, golf and football were among the popular games in China in the early 15th Century.
We learned from many of the magnificent objects that during the golden age of Ming Dynasty between 1400-1450, China became a global superpower.
One of the highlights in this trip was a talk delivered by Ellery from Grade 8 on the greatest explorer Zheng He’s expeditions and how that opened up China to foreign influence.
