I have experience working overseas for NGOs and schools, teaching both national and international curriculums.
I left the UK in 2005 and was involved in teaching and teacher training at community schools in Tanzania and Rwanda; I created, developed and managed a youth centre and community library in conjunction with the local community and government in rural Zambia; and I taught the IB curriculum at the American International School of Lusaka and an IB World School in London.
I have eight years’ IB teaching experience, teaching IBMYP Mathematics, Science and PHE, as well as IB Diploma Mathematical Studies and Biology. I am employed by the IB as a senior examiner of the new IBMYP Interdisciplinary eAssessments and I write articles for IB publications and authored IBMYP Science textbooks.
I was brought up and educated in the UK. I acquired a bachelor degree in Medical Sciences and Postgraduate Certificate of Education from the University of Leeds. After that I completed an MA in International Education from the University of Bath, which looked at the reasons schools choose the IBMYP as their curriculum.
